Paper Lanterns - Permanent Installation in Homes & Commercial SpacesWe are positively GAGA over Paper Lanterns! They fill up air space so beautifully, and they give a certain "zen" to any event. But we've not seen this particular type of installation that was done in a fabulous loft/warehouse type of building by Jamie Butler of With Love and Light in Atlanta.
I asked Jamie if they'd be willing to share their installation secrets, and she was kind enough to spill the beans!:
"All we did was use taut wire to build a floating "structure". I purchased a lighting cord that had the bulbs
spaced 60" apart, this way I could gather the lighting cord and drop the lanterns to different lengths. To keep
the cord together I used 2 inch loose metal binder rings from the office supply store. The binders open and close
which made for an easier install. I could attach one to the lantern, add as many as I want for the length, then attache
the one on the top to the wire. I put little wired beads and pieces of a yarn from a scarf on top each lantern
so the eye would believe the lantern was hanging and not just floating in the air."
How COMPLETELY GENIUS is this?! We love it!
