It was four inches shorter than we wanted and we decided to put it in a bathroom window to provide some privacy. The design of the bar was such that it easily accommodated shortening its length and re-arranging the bead spacing. It turns out that the clear beads do not provide much in terms of privacy. I'm sure that if we had ordered the iridescent type the result would have been better.

I did "cheat" when hanging them and used wire ties to hang them on an existing curtain rod since I didn't want to add more holes to my window casing.
