All of the pieces break down for easy storage, cleaning and transportation but are sturdy and stable when assembled. Many of the planters have matching pedestals and pillars which makes a very smart looking set. Some of the Grecian Pillar Columns are height adjustable, by simply leaving out 1 section of the column. And, many of the top plates have holes which can be used to insert long-stemmed flowers and sprays, or remove the top plate to expose a cavity to hold large flower pots. Very handy!
