I worried the beads would be chintzy plastic and look cheap. Not so. They do not appear to be "painted", nor do they have any side seams that are sometimes prominent from the molding of inexpensive beads. The scallop pattern created by bead-size variation gives them a nice flow, and continues with the bottom edge being scalloped. My only wish was that for my purposes, they came with a flexible top casing, as I am hanging one of them in a curved window (though this application is, no doubt, rare). So, to make it work, I was required to break the top casing, and THAT was no small feat (many blows with a hammer!), so I assure you that this is a durable and sturdy item! I'm still working on coming up with a new casing/way to hang them...will probably go with some sort of fabric sleeve.to slip over my curved curtain rod.... Being that they are in a window (one of two is already hung with the original casing tied with ribbon to a straight rod in a different window), I can't attest to tangling, but they certainly do reflect the sunshine beautifully and the "oily" iridesent colors are rich and wonderful.
ConsWas not perfect for my application, but I knew this ahead of time (hanging in a curved window)
