Quick, Easy, Budget-Lovin' Decor Ideas Just in Time for Valentine's
It has come to our attention (through Facebook, Pinterest, and actual real life parties that we have attended) that there are some moms and party planners out there who make handmade/bespoke/vintage/sun-drenched-and-perfectly-photographed soirees look really easy to put together, whether said events are for a preschool play group or 250 wedding guests.
If you're like us, your Valentine's Decorating may or may not involve candy hearts scattered about by toddlers, but we simply love the practice of ushering in each holiday on the calendar with Martha-esque aplomb. And bespoke party favors. And sun-drenched photographs.
And this year, we aren't trying to do it all, but we are trying to incorporate a little more of that special holiday fairy dust into our real lives, despite busy schedules and the aforementioned candy crushing toddlers. We're finding that choosing a thing or two to mark special occasions, and focusing on how much we love those rather than what else we should have done, really does make holidays more special.
One of the top contenders for our toe-dipping into Valentine's Day is to welcome guests and your Valentine with a pretty burlap wreath ~ simple to make on a floral wire frame, and we love things that will keep well for reuse on future V-Days. Best of all, this looks like something that we could totally do with our toddlers "helping."
And for a touch of romance, a whimsical X-O wreath like in the 2nd photo could easily be made to match your home's colors using our Beaded Garlands.
Easy, quick, and adorable on your front door. Or ours.
For those of you who are Decorating for a Valentine's party, we wanted to share some of the best ideas we've seen for creating pretty party spaces in short order. These ideas incorporate focal points (just like Christine Ridgway said!) and a few big splash pieces, giving you maximum return on your budget and keeping your guests talking about your being the hostess with the mostess.
One of the MOST ingenious ideas we've seen are these Paper Lanterns
turned-lollipops (3rd photo). They're oh so awesome framed by these antique windows, but we can see them working almost anywhere to add a big pop (sorry) of color without breaking the bank. (Again, we could do this! We think we can, we think we can╔)
We love a bubble gum and hot pink Valentine's party theme, complete with Tissue Paper Poms
floating above the table and Mylar Floral Sheeting
would make an adorable (and easy) table runner with zero cleanup. (Our favorite words: zero cleanup.)
A layered, čber crafty candy table is a look that we have seen a lot in vintage themed weddings, and paper crafts really are right up our alley. But time is of the essence at our house all of the time, and pre-made tissue paper poms, burlap pennants and Cake Stands
are also right up our real life alley.
We hope that you've got a few projects for the year, and we don't mind saying that our trying our hand at a few more handmade (ish) holiday pretties is turning out to be a lot of fun already. We'd love to see what you're doing to celebrate love in your home, especially if you've got some sun-drenched photos to share.
